Las Arenas
Next to Torre del Mar, there is the beach of the Sands, composed of black sand and with moderate waves. It belongs to the town of Velez-Malaga, located in the eastern part of the Malaga province.
It is equipped with many amenities including own tourism office and free parking although not guarded. It is included in the accessibility plan although it has no access to walkways for the disabled until the beach. It forms a strip along the Torre del Mar, being located at the east of this beach.
Its name refers to the nearby town of Arenas, since it was the tradition for the inhabitants of this town to have boats on this beach.
As a leisure destination, it is very near to Baviera Golf Club, it is located in the north bordering the Natural Park of Sierra Tejada, Almijara and Alhama. This valley is especially has an ideal climate or playing golf and is adjacent to other beaches that are most valued by tourists, such as Torre del Mar, Nerja or Caleta de Velez.
The beach is highly recommended for families who want to make an excursion to less populated areas than some nearby beaches much more frequented by tourists.

HOW TO REACH THERE
From Málaga, take the highway A-7 direction Motril- Almería and take the exit 272 towards Torre del Mar.
From Vélez Málaga, take the national N-340 which will take you directly to Torre del Mar.
