Natural Viewpoint of the Villares
This viewpoint is in the Villares Pine Wood, above the neighbourhood of the same name.
The Villares neighbourhood is one of the oldest and the most tradicional in the village. Whitewashed houses and flower pots create a scenic and charming setting. It belongs to the higher part of the village, to the old town, and it was the first to be inhabited in the municipality.
The pine wood has several viewpoints over the village. In the background you can see the mountains, olive trees and cereal fields, as well as white houses which contrast with the intense yellow colour of the fields.
The church of Our Lady of Sorrows (Nuestra Señora de los Dolores) is the most important building in Villanueva del Trabuco. it was built by the Duque of Osasuna at the end of the 18th century, and it was restored in the middle of the last century. As for its architecture, the bell tower, above the door of the main facade, stands out and it can be seen from any place in the village.
