Beaches

Caleta Beach is located at the Port of Caleta of Vélez, located in the southeast of the province of Malaga on the Mediterranean coast between the towns of Torre del Mar and Algarrobo. This small town is an urban centre whose main economic activity is fishing, its port being one of the most important in the province.

The beach is of dark sand and is 1,000 meters long and with a width area of between 40 and 70 meters. It is divided into three distinct sections: Rio Seco, las Palmeras and Benito. It has access for the physically handicapped although not with walkways on the sand itself. Good services offered by the beach has led it to get the accreditation of the Blue Flag and the Q of recognized tourist quality.

In July, Marineras festivals take place in honour of the Virgen del Carmen, organized by the Fishermen's Association of the town. On the 15th of that month in the area of the fish Market, a celebration is held at the Port. The next day, after a ceremony in the parish, there is a public paella in the fish market before the 9 pm when the procession takes place.

There is a marina that features advanced facilities that allow you to practice all sports. It is the only one in the east coast of Málaga and therefore maintains a high occupancy throughout the year.
