The Carihuela Beach, in Torremolinos, is at a distance of 18 km from the city centre, and it extends from the beach of Bajondillo to the Marina of Benalmádena.

Dark sand, has an area of 2,100 meters long and 40 meters wide, and usually has a calm or moderate tidal wave.

If Carihuela Beach stands out for something, that is because of the number of nearby restaurants and bars where you can enjoy the typical fried fish or fried Malagan or numerous dishes of traditional cuisine.

Its name pays homage to the old fishing district located in the Eastern part of the city, which is today a cosmopolitan area that accommodated a large number of entertainment venues and hotels.

Its palm groves areas with natural grass provide pleasant shade, which invites you to enjoy the summer days.

In peak season, we can find kiosks, rental services of sunbeds and water equipment such as pedal boats. Besides, in summers, this beach, thanks to the different shows being organized here.

One of the most special days to enjoy on La Carihuela beach is July 16, during the festivity of Virgen del Carmen, Saint of Town, in which the wide range of playful activities are done around the procession and embarkation of the Virgin.

HOW TO GET THERE

From Torremolinos, you can easily reach in car through the avenida de la Libertad and the highway N-340, or through the street Costa Rica.

From Málaga centro, you can get to this beach through the avenida de Velázquez and the urban highway MA-21, or through A-7, also known as the highway of Mediterráneo.

From the city centre, you can also get to this beach through public transport, thanks to the local train of RENFE C1, which can be boarded from Centro Alameda direction Fuengirola and get off at the station of El Pinillo, from where you can go walking to the beach in approximately 12 minutes.
