Screw Torcal Natural Monument

El Tornillo del Torcal, with a surface of 1,953 meters, was declared a Natural Monument in 2001. For its original look something like a screw, it is used as a symbol of Paraje Natural Torcal de Antequera to which it belongs.

Screw the Torcal Natural Monument is an example of one of the characteristics of karst landscape formations, caused by differential dissolution and breakdown of limestone strata combined with erosion.

It is a very typical in a place that is considered the best example in Europe for the study of processes and karst forms.
