Deserted Village of la Sauceda, Cortes de la Frontera (Unique Site)
Recommended month to visit it: May.
Cliffs densely populated by cork and gall oaks that capture the moisture and the rain of oceanic breezes, bushes, ferns and rocks dressed in the green of moss decorate the depths of an enchanted forest out of which arrogant crags emerge with a life of their own. We are speaking of La Sauceda, one of the most famous sites in the Los Alcornocales Natural Park, located in the municipality of Cortes de la Frontera, in a part of the Serranía de Ronda close to the Campo de Gibraltar. La Sauceda counts with unique recreational possibilities, since the reconstruction of part of the ruins of the central sector of the legendary forest village that started in 1979.
Nowadays it is an Environmental Recreational Centre, offering information, lodging and camping activities.
