Picasso´s Gardens
These gardens were opened in 1981 to commemorate the centenary of the birth of this famous painter from Malaga. They have a symmetrical arrangement as the petals of a flower. Among its harmonious and striking vegetation highlight the ficus trees, jacarandas and tropical plants. Precisely, between two of these giant Ficus is located the sculpture in homage to Pablo Picasso Malaga done by sculptor Miguel Berrocal, a native of Villanueva de Algaida (Malaga).
At the other extreme of the gardens there is a children's play area that adds fun and joy to the environment with games and races when the days begin to lengthen from the first lights of spring until autumn is entered.
We also find in these gardens a sculpture called the tree of friendship, which is a metal frame that was given by the North American town of Alabama, sister city of Malaga, in 1978.
