Llano Cristóbal, Casarabonela (Unique Site)
Recommended month to visit it: November.
We will take the old road to La Dehesa, which used to be the link between Casarabonela and the Roman Way that connected the Valle del Guadalhorce with the Serranía de Ronda. In many sections of the road we will see part of the preserved pavement and the ancient drains and canals to the sides of the road.
Soon we will pass near the Fuente de los Hornaos, a natural spring which has running water nearly all year round. We pass by the Tajo del Naranjal, with its carved vertical walls, symptom of the erosion and the landslides. We continue a little further on, through the Llano Cristóbal, where we find a small and tidy refuge surrounded by overgrown pines of afforestation.
It is worthwhile to take a look from overlook of the Llano Cristóbal, located at the back of the refuge.
