Parador Malaga Golf. Real Club de Campo

The golf course at the Parador de Málaga Golf enjoys an exceptional location in the heart of the Costa del Sol. This seaside course is just 10 minutes from Malaga's international airport and the provincial capital. Years of experience have made the oldest course in Andalusia a challenge for experienced players yet also achievable for any golf enthusiast.
The PGA European Tour has chosen the course to host several of its tournaments on the professional golf tour. This serves as recognition of the quality standards required at the top levels of professional golf.
Over the years, the Royal Spanish Golf Federation has selected the golf course at the Parador de Málaga Golf on several occasions for its professional and amateur tournaments in Spain.
Its origins date back to the last century, the early 1920s. The early days of the course are linked to the British royal family, especially Princess Beatrice of Battenberg, mother of Queen Victoria Eugenie, who spent part of the year in the region and was a driving force behind the club's creation. In 1925, construction began on the original 9-hole course under the technical supervision of Harry Sephard Colt (who also built Wentworth).
It was later enlarged to 18 holes (6,173 m, par 72) under the supervision and design of the prestigious Tom Simpson (who was also responsible for such important courses as Turnberry, Muirfield and Ballybunion). The course record is held by Malaga native Miguel Ángel Jimênez with 63 strokes, set during the 1999 PGA Turespaña Masters, which he won.
Vijai Sing won on this course at the 1992 Turespaña Masters. Sand dunes, palm trees, mimosas, eucalyptus and pines skirt the course. Two holes run along the edge of the sea.
