Don Joaquín Grill Restaurant, Pizarra (Distinguished Establishments)
UNIQUENESS
This restaurant forms part of the Suckling Lamb Grill Room Association Guide of Castilae and León, and it is one of the few Andalusian restaurants that have been recognized by this important association, as well as the associations of suckling pig in Segovia and beef in Galicia.
CHARACTERISTICS
On its stoves and wood-fired ovens, carefully chosen dishes are made, combining local seasonal products that come from the garden and juicy meat, like the typical suckling lamb from Castile and León, suckling pig as it is made in Segovia, as well as suckling kid made according to the recipes from Málaga. These flavours are all packed in the country-style restaurant, made of warm materials, but with modern decoration.
The wine cellar is crucial in a good grill room. This one has a varied range of different brands of wines (more than 400) with a good value for money. The restaurant offers Estrella Galicia beer, which is famous for not going through the process of pasteurization and being unmistakably different than other bottled, canned or draught beer.
LOCATION
It is placed in the Town of Pizarra, though it is closer to Álora, and it is rather near the Great Path of Guadalhorce (Long-distance Path, GR 248).
