PECULIARITY
Restaurant attached to the hotel boutique Posada del Conde. With its brick stone walls and wooden roofs and ceilings, this building is a typical Andalusian construction. Although the building is old, fitting perfectly in the environment, it has got the modernst hotel installations. The establishment is open all year round.
CHARACTERISTICS
The restaurant bases its cuisine on the Mediterranean diet and the products and local dishes. 140 guests can be hold up and distributed in two rooms.
From its menu, we recommend stuffed peppers with field mushrooms, the traditional stew, Perota soup made of bread and vegetables, migas (fried breadcrumbs) with chorizo, callos (a dish with tripe) with chickpea, scrambled eggs with field mushrooms or sea shells covered with shellfish. If you prefer fish and sea food, then try prawns in green sauce, sea bass, gilt-head fish, ‘Bacalao a la Riojana’ (cod prepared in tomato sauce), or chanquete (small translucent fish) with peppers.
Nevertheless, if you choose meat, there are dishes such as roasted shoulder of lamb with honey, kid goat meat made according to the traditional recipe from Ardales, wild boar meat cooked with red wine, pork tenderloin stuffed with Málaga’s gravy or au gratin Posada’s tenderloin.
Finally, for dessert, we recommend custard, chocolate crème caramel, crema catalana (custard dessert with caramelized sugar), fruit pudding, or mixed home-made desserts if you would like to taste a bit of each.
The wine list is well supplied with diverse Rioja and Ribera del Duero red wines or those from Navarra. As for the white wines, they are from Rueda, Huelva, Cádiz, Mollina, although you can also find some Rioja white wines.
