This old flourmill located near a river source with a regular annual flow was reopened as a hotel in 1987. In old times, the building used to be a private dwelling, and the last miller left the place more than thirty years ago. The remodelling tasks were executed taking extreme precautions as to keep the old building and ensure all the additions made matched the original structure.

One of the unique characteristics distinguishing this hotel is that you can get there by train as it features its own train halt only 500 metre away.

The establishment distinguishes itself by a family-like environment, ideal for those visitors who want to enjoy vacations in a relaxing atmosphere and surrounded by tranquillity and exceptional landscapes. However, it is also the ideal place for all those who may wish to use this hotel as a point of departure to explore the fascinating surrounding nature areas. No wonder that the hotel is included in very well known travel guides such as "Pequeños Hoteles con Encanto" (Small Charming Hotels) published by El País-Aguilar, the "Michelin Guide" or the "Volvo Guide".

The bedrooms are provided with comfortable furniture and are featured by their large windows. Additionally, most of them have terraces with a beautiful into the well-kept gardens of the complex. All of them include, among other services, their own coffee and tea supply.

We must not forget the gorgeous swimming pool with over 100 m² featuring a small fountain built into the rock with a small pond full of colourful fishes. This swimming pool is heated by solar panels. You can find lawns next to it provided with sun chairs where you can relax and have a nice time on sunny days.

The hotel features a beautiful lounge where visitors can enjoy the old pieces of the mill and a bread furnace. In addition, a fireplace crowns and embellishes the room. The large windows and the interior decoration invite visitors to read the books available at the hotel library with a large selection of novels and reference books, including travel guides of the area.

The spacious dining room and the bar offer the guests a cute area where they can taste exquisite dishes or have a drink. The external terrace, full of bushes and flowers, next to the river, offers the possibility to enjoy lunch and dinner from May through to October; also an ideal place to take coffee or tea.

The quality of the food at “El Molino” has given the hotel much of its prestige. Based on local and regional dishes, it offers an exhaustive menu that changes with the seasons, but always maintaining a wide variety of meat, fish, and vegetarian dishes, accompanied –as anyone would expect– by the wines from its extensive bodega. Among the many dishes we can choose from are the famous cold cuts from nearby Benaoján, a large selection of Iberian products, homemade chicken pâté, pepper salad, meat strips in a blue sheep’s cheese and nuts sauce, chickpeas with spinach and garlic, pork brochette with pesto sauce, lamb chops with rosemary and special potatoes, roasted wild goat, swordfish sautéed in white beans, or the vegetable paella. In the section devoted to desserts, we will find a difficult time when selecting among its varied offer that includes raspberries with cream or ice-cream, pears in red wine, fried milk pudding with orange sauce or, an ice-cream sundae with cognac-flavoured raisin. Yet, we must not forget about the wonderful selection of homemade cakes.

The hotel reception offers a wire range of suggestions for tours, by car or on foot. In addition, maps and instructions are available. Among the options are tours to Cueva de la Pileta (The Pond Cave) or Cueva del Gato (the Kitty Cave), Old Ronda -Acinipo, and nearby White Villages: Ubrique, Arcos de la Frontera, Grazalema and Zahara de la Sierra. In addition, another option is to follow the route of the chestnut or any of the alternatives offered by Grazalema Nature Park.
