El Ventero del Trabuco (Distinguished Establishments)
UNIQUENESS
This inn is named after a legend which tells a story about the innkeeper of a small traditional hotel in Villanueva del Trabuco, which was at the crossroad of the main cattle tracks. He used go to Archidona to purchase groceries, but was always robbed along the way. This is why he decided to buy a blunderbuss (trabuco in Spanish) and robbers stopped attacking him. From then on, people would say: ‘there he goes, the Ventero del Trabuco [the Blunderbuss Innkeeper]’.
This is why the owners of the inn decorated it with plenty of implements and old tools with great artistic value.
