UNIQUENESS

Cortijo del Arte Hotel and El Museo Restaurant were opened in 2011 in an old Arabian cattle ranch, on the Andalusian farm Casablanca. It is placed by the Guadalhorce River, stretching for 6,000 square metres, and it is surrounded by orange trees, gardens, patios, stables and Gino Hollander Town Museum.

CHARACTERISTICS

El Museo Restaurant won José Meliá Sinisterra Prize by Málaga’s Academy of Gastronomy for high quality dishes and service, personalized customer service and its original architecture and interior design. The award was sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Navigation, the Málaga’s Entrepreneurs Association (CEM) and the Costa del Sol Hotel Industry Employers Association (Aehcos).

This and other establishments from the Guadalhorce Valley have created a gastronomy club called ‘People from the Guadalhorce Valley, Taste the Food from Algarabía’ in order to promote local food and products, such as stews, traditionally cooked meat, and other traditional recipes from Málaga.

The wine list contains traditional brands as well as some good wines from Ronda, Cártama, Álora and Mollina.
Depending on the season, there are events such as the one dedicated to the traditional dish with goat meat from Málaga, Lenten meals, Christmas sweets, tapas competitions, etc.

LOCATION

The hotel is placed on the Pizarra-Málaga (A-7054) road, 2 kilometres away from the town centre of Pizarra, in the direction of Cártama Station. It has an exceptional position in the Guadalhorce Valley next to the river which the valley is named after, at the bottom of the Gibralmora Mountains, and it is surrounded by citrus fruit orchards. This area has a great ecological importance due to the diversity of trees and water birds, which is why the route‘Contrastes y Azahar’ [Contrasts and Orange Blossom], approved by the Andalusian Government, goes through it (PRA-118).
