Restaurante del Hotel La Viñuela (Distinguished Establishments)
This recently built establishment is designed as a typical Andalusian country house.
The restaurant offers a well-chosen selection of creative dishes based on local and Mediterranean gastronomy, and a select wine list.
Starters menu includes avocado and cheese slices with sugar cane honey, pâté and pistachio truffles with caramelized onion, scrambled eggs with Iberian ham, quail lolipops (quail chupa-chups) with foie gras and broad beans, Andalusian gaspacho (cold tomato soup) with pieces of Iberian ham and olive-oil ice cream.
There is as well a good choice of main dishes, like oven-baked sea bass with fresh pasta, artichoke, basil and tomato; venison ragout with Malaga wine and chestnuts; or grilled ox sirloin with crunchy field mushrooms.
Finally, you can taste some good desserts like yogurt and white chocolate cream with passionfruit, milhoja (millefeuille) with cream, and cinnamon custard.
It is placed on the bank of the Reservoir la Viñuela, close to the Sierra Tejeda Nature Park, only fifteen minutes away from the coast.
