Quercus Restaurant (Distinguished Establishments)
Quercus restaurant is located in the old Jimera de Libar station, next to the train tracks, being a building completely remodeled and adapted to its present use but maintaining the original rail spirit that had for years.
It represents the efforts of Mary and Pepa, who bet on the place and this landmark building and that after years of work turned it into a unique place where gastronomy and expertise play a key role.
In any case the fact of being able to sit and enjoy a coffee or a drink is a luxury for the whole interior is decorated with love and a wise experience. It kept the old ceiling beams and large windows, but playing with indirect lights that highlight the building's interior. But the visitor also have to look out the kitchen and see their stoves, with large pots and pans boiling, all masterfully handled.
Already on the table, good diners can find a suitable offer of starters, such as goat cheese salad and pears, lettuce heads fried, marinated salmon with dill, or croquettes, crumbs, cream of cauliflower soup with blue cheese or chickpeas with spinach. As for main course might be offered the lacquered deer loin with red fruits, the Iberian pork sirloin with port wine, the duck confit with tartin of apples, beef steak, rabbit with garlic mayonnaise or excellent monkfish and prawn skewer. Finally, as one would expect, some of their desserts like tiramisu, chocolate fondant cake or cheese flan.
The wine list is sound, with a variety of Riberas and Riojas and some of Somontano, Navarre, Toro and Malaga, all in red. Without forgetting the wines of Rueda, Navarra, Privilegios del Condado and some white and rosé from Portugal.
