Description

1.- The preparation and presentation of projects.

Guía Recursos Europeos para las Administraciones Locales

Includes searching for the most adequate initiatives or programmes possible, contacting members and formulating projects, as required by the different Council departments so they can offer their respective services. It includes planning the budget and actions to be pursued.

2.- The implementation and management of projects.

Once a Project has been approved, the implementation phase begins. During this phase, work is carried out alongside the different Council Departments, regions and members (national and international). The different delegations participate in the parts of the project requiring specialised knowledge, since their staff members are experts in their respective fields, but the transnational part of the project and the justification of the budget are responsibilities of the Department itself.

3. Information and cooperation with other areas of the Council.

This function is of great importance in enabling the different departments of the Council to obtain access to European financing. It involves providing information and advice on different proposals that may be of interest to the different departments of the Council and the different services they offer.

4. Counselling and collaboration with Town Halls, entities and public and private institutions of the province.

The Department of European Resources has come a long way in terms of strengthening the Council’s bonds with the different Town Halls and rural development groups in the province, providing them with useful advice and enabling them to source funds required for projects which are of special interest to municipalities. This service is vital, since it enables greater funding to be obtained from the European Union, which in turn benefits municipalities and districts to a great extent.

The Department of European Resources also has an important networking function, bringing Málaga’s public entities closer to private groups, associations, professional schools, chambers of commerce and agriculture, etc.

5. Sharing information on European programmes.

The publication of information is vital, since it enables citizens to discover the results of different projects which are currently underway. The European Resources Department also holds information days and seminars, to share knowledge on the different matters relating to relevant norms or EU policies. This is one of the tasks of the Europe Direct European Information Office, which depends on the department and is situated on Cervantes street.
